Eye Appointment v Art Class
It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. Having said that, I’ve finished several pieces since. This new one is based on a picture I came across online. I started with the background, then used a while charcoal pencil to sketch in the subject. Then I decided to allow the subject to be “split” by the background (although that wasn’t my original intention). Obviously not finished, but I am going to maintain the integrity of the “split” to show two different personalities of the subject. Meanwhile, what you are seeing here is what happens when an artist who is already dealing with eye “floaters” and a potential retinal detachment has her eyes dilated before going to class. The mouth clearly needs to be reworked! Not a problem, but a good lesson learned here! Never schedule an eye appointment on the same day as an art class. Whoops! haha
